Bird Dog Sandwich (Print Version)

# Ingredients:

01 - 120ml mayonnaise
02 - 2 tablespoons smokey barbecue sauce
03 - 2 tablespoons honey
04 - 1 tablespoon yellow mustard
05 - 1/2 tablespoon Dijon mustard
06 - 1/2 tablespoon fresh lemon juice

→ Sandwich Components

07 - 4 extra large breaded chicken tenders
08 - 4 thick-cut bacon slices, cooked until crisp
09 - 4 brioche hot dog buns
10 - Shredded romaine or iceberg lettuce
11 - Roma tomatoes, sliced
12 - Red onion, thinly sliced
13 - Dill pickles, sliced
14 - Freshly cracked black pepper

# Instructions:

01 - In a small mixing bowl, whisk together mayonnaise, barbecue sauce, honey, yellow mustard, Dijon mustard, and lemon juice until well combined. Cover and refrigerate while preparing other ingredients.
02 - Prepare the breaded chicken tenders according to package directions until golden and crisp. An air fryer works particularly well for optimal crispness.
03 - Once chicken is finished cooking, lightly toast the brioche buns for approximately 1 minute until just warmed and slightly crisp around the edges.
04 - Generously spread the prepared sauce on both sides of each bun interior. Layer each with chicken tenders, crispy bacon slices, shredded lettuce, red onion slices, tomato slices, and pickle chips.
05 - Add a final turn of freshly cracked black pepper over each assembled sandwich. Optionally drizzle with additional sauce for extra flavor before serving.
