Cut your onion into rings about 1/4 inch thick. Separate the rings and set aside.

Get three bowls ready: put the flour in the first one, beat the egg in the second, and mix the panko breadcrumbs with garlic powder, paprika, salt and pepper in the third.

Take each onion ring and dip it first in the flour (shake off excess), then into the beaten egg, and finally coat it well with the seasoned breadcrumb mixture.

Get your air fryer nice and hot by preheating it to 375°F for about 3-5 minutes.

Give the air fryer basket a light spray with olive oil to prevent sticking.

Arrange your coated onion rings in a single layer in the basket (you might need to cook in batches). Air fry for 8-10 minutes total, flipping them halfway through cooking for even browning.

Let the crispy onion rings cool for a minute or two before serving them up hot and delicious!
