Dubu Jorim Korean Braised Tofu (Print Version)

# Ingredients:

→ Sauce

01 - 3 tablespoons soy sauce
02 - ½ tablespoon honey
03 - ½ - 1 tablespoon gochugaru (Korean red pepper flakes)
04 - ½ cup water
05 - 2 garlic cloves, minced
06 - 1 green onion, sliced

→ Main Ingredients

07 - 1 package (400g) firm tofu, cut into thick slices and patted dry
08 - 1 tablespoon vegetable oil
09 - 1 teaspoon toasted sesame oil
10 - Sesame seeds for garnish

# Instructions:

01 - Whisk together soy sauce, honey, gochugaru, water, minced garlic, and sliced green onion in a bowl. Set aside.
02 - Preheat vegetable oil in a non-stick pan over medium heat. Add tofu slices and pan-fry until golden brown on both sides, flipping once.
03 - Pour the prepared sauce into the pan with the tofu. Allow tofu to braise until most of the liquid has reduced, occasionally spooning sauce over the tofu.
04 - Drizzle toasted sesame oil over the braised tofu and flip the pieces to distribute the oil evenly.
05 - Sprinkle with sesame seeds before serving.

# Notes:

01 - Adjust the spice level by varying the amount of gochugaru: 1 tablespoon for spicy, ½ tablespoon for moderate, or 1 teaspoon for mild.
02 - For best results, use a non-stick pan to prevent tofu from sticking and breaking during flipping.
03 - Substitute honey with sugar or another sweetener to make this dish vegan.
04 - Use certified gluten-free soy sauce to make this dish gluten-free.
