Place ripe strawberries in a bowl and sprinkle them with sugar. Mash with a fork until combined.

Spoon 2 tablespoons of the mashed strawberries into 6 piles on a parchment-lined baking sheet or plate that fits into your freezer. Freeze for 3-4 hours or until solid.

Melt the chocolate candy coating according to the package instructions.

Dip each frozen strawberry pile into the melted chocolate coating and place them back on the parchment paper. Return to the freezer until the chocolate hardens.
