Garlic Turmeric Rice (Print Version)

# Ingredients:

→ Base

01 - 2 tbsp unsalted butter or coconut oil
02 - 1/2 medium onion, finely diced
03 - 4 cloves garlic, minced
04 - 1 tsp turmeric powder
05 - 2 cups (370g) basmati rice or long-grain rice, rinsed and drained
06 - 3 cups chicken stock or vegetable stock
07 - 1/2 tsp salt, or to taste
08 - 1/4 tsp black pepper, or to taste

→ Garnish

09 - Fresh parsley, chopped (optional)

→ Serving Suggestion

10 - Marinated chicken kebabs or grilled vegetables, seafood, or meat

# Instructions:

01 - Melt butter in a pot over medium heat. Add onion and garlic and sauté for about 1-2 minutes or until fragrant.
02 - Add turmeric powder and stir to combine. Mix in the rice until the grains are evenly coated and lightly toasted.
03 - Add stock, salt, and pepper. Mix to combine and bring to a boil. Cover, reduce the heat to low, and simmer for 15 minutes.
04 - Remove from heat and set aside for about 5 minutes before fluffing the rice with a fork.
