Jalapeno Popper Grilled Cheese (Print Version)

# Ingredients:

→ Bread & Dairy

01 - 2 slices quality white bread, thick cut
02 - 2 tablespoons unsalted butter, room temperature
03 - 2 tablespoons finely shredded parmesan cheese
04 - 85g cream cheese, room temperature
05 - 80g shredded cheddar cheese

→ Seasonings & Additions

06 - 1.5 tablespoons diced jalapeños, or more to taste
07 - ¼ teaspoon garlic powder
08 - Salt and freshly ground pepper, to taste

# Instructions:

01 - Combine cream cheese, diced jalapeños, garlic powder, salt and pepper in a small bowl. Mix thoroughly until well incorporated.
02 - Spread the jalapeño filling evenly on one slice of bread. Top with shredded cheddar cheese, then place the remaining bread slice on top to form a sandwich.
03 - Spread half of the softened butter on the top slice of bread. Press half of the parmesan cheese into the butter with your fingers, ensuring it adheres well to create a crust.
04 - Preheat a pan over medium heat for 2-3 minutes. Place the sandwich in the pan with the butter-parmesan side facing down.
05 - While the first side cooks, spread the remaining butter on the exposed bread slice and press the remaining parmesan cheese into it.
06 - Cook for 4-5 minutes on the first side until the parmesan forms a crispy golden crust that releases easily from the pan.
07 - Carefully flip the sandwich and cook for another 4-5 minutes, or until the second side is golden brown and crispy, and the cheeses inside have fully melted.

# Notes:

01 - For jalapeños, either use pre-sliced jarred varieties or roast your own fresh peppers (wearing gloves when handling)
02 - If the sandwich sticks to the pan during flipping, it needs more cooking time - properly crisped parmesan will release easily
