Nutella Babka Buns (Print Version)

# Ingredients:

→ Dough

01 - 4 cups all-purpose flour
02 - 1/2 cup granulated sugar
03 - 1 packet active dry yeast
04 - 1/2 cup lukewarm whole milk
05 - 2 large eggs, room temperature
06 - 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
07 - 1/2 teaspoon salt
08 - 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened

→ Filling

09 - 1 cup Nutella spread
10 - 1/2 cup chopped hazelnuts (optional)

→ Glaze

11 - 1/4 cup powdered sugar
12 - 2-3 tablespoons milk

# Instructions:

01 - In a large bowl, combine flour, sugar, and yeast. Add lukewarm milk, eggs, vanilla extract, and salt. Stir until a dough forms, then gradually incorporate softened butter while kneading until smooth and elastic, approximately 10 minutes.
02 - Cover the dough and let it rise in a warm place until doubled in size, about 1 to 1.5 hours.
03 - On a lightly floured surface, roll the dough into a large rectangle. Spread Nutella evenly over the surface, leaving a 1-inch border. If using, sprinkle chopped hazelnuts over the Nutella.
04 - Roll the dough into a tight log, starting from the long edge. Cut into 12 equal slices.
05 - Arrange slices in a greased baking dish, cut-side up. Cover and let rise for 30 minutes.
06 - Preheat oven to 175°C (350°F). Bake the buns for 25-30 minutes until golden brown.
07 - Whisk together powdered sugar and milk until smooth to create a glaze. Drizzle over the warm buns before serving.

# Notes:

01 - For best results, ensure all refrigerated ingredients reach room temperature before beginning. The dough can be prepared a day ahead and refrigerated overnight for the first rise.
