Overnight Caramel French Toast (Print Version)

# Ingredients:

→ Base

01 - 1 loaf thick-cut brioche or challah bread, sliced

→ Caramel Layer

02 - 1/2 cup unsalted butter
03 - 1 cup brown sugar
04 - 2 tablespoons maple syrup

→ Custard

05 - 5 large eggs
06 - 1 1/2 cups half-and-half
07 - 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
08 - Pinch of salt

# Instructions:

01 - Melt butter, brown sugar, and maple syrup until thickened. Pour into greased baking dish.
02 - Layer bread over caramel. Pour custard mixture (eggs, half-and-half, vanilla, salt) over bread.
03 - Cover and refrigerate overnight or 6-8 hours.
04 - Cook at 350°F for 35-45 minutes until golden and bubbly. Rest 5 minutes before serving.
