Strawberry Cheesecake Fried Sandwiches (Print Version)

# Ingredients:

→ Sandwiches

01 - 8 slices of bread
02 - 1 cup strawberries, chopped
03 - 1 cup cream cheese, softened
04 - 1/4 cup powdered sugar
05 - 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

→ Coating

06 - 2 large eggs
07 - 1/2 cup milk
08 - 1 cup breadcrumbs
09 - Oil for frying

→ Serving (Optional)

10 - Powdered sugar for dusting
11 - Chocolate sauce for drizzling

# Instructions:

01 - In a bowl, combine the softened cream cheese, powdered sugar, and vanilla extract, mixing until smooth. Gently fold in the chopped strawberries until they're evenly distributed throughout the mixture.
02 - Spread the strawberry cream cheese filling generously onto four slices of bread. Top each with another slice of bread to form four complete sandwiches, pressing down slightly to secure them.
03 - In a shallow dish, whisk together the eggs and milk until well combined. In a separate shallow dish, spread out the breadcrumbs.
04 - Dip each sandwich into the egg mixture, making sure both sides are thoroughly coated. Then press the wet sandwich into the breadcrumbs, turning to coat all sides evenly.
05 - Heat oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Cook the coated sandwiches until they're golden brown and crispy on both sides, about 2-3 minutes per side. Transfer to paper towels to drain any excess oil.
06 - Enjoy these indulgent treats while they're still warm, with a light dusting of powdered sugar or a drizzle of chocolate sauce if desired.

# Notes:

01 - Can be made with any type of bread, though brioche or challah work especially well
02 - Make sure cream cheese is fully softened for the smoothest filling
03 - Fresh berries work best, but frozen and thawed strawberries can be used in a pinch
