02 - 1 tablespoon olive oil
03 - 1 medium onion, chopped
04 - 1 red bell pepper, chopped
05 - 3 cloves garlic, minced

→ Sauce

06 - 1 cup tomato sauce
07 - 2 tablespoons ketchup
08 - 1 tablespoon brown sugar
09 - 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
10 - 1 teaspoon mustard
11 - ½ teaspoon chili powder
12 - Salt and freshly ground black pepper to taste

→ For Serving

13 - 4 hamburger buns
14 - Fresh parsley for garnish (optional)

# Instructions:

01 - Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Add your chopped onion and bell pepper, cooking until they're soft and fragrant, about 5 minutes.
02 - Add minced garlic and ground turkey to the vegetables. Break the turkey apart with a spoon while it cooks, continuing until it's fully browned and cooked through, about 7-8 minutes.
03 - Stir in all your sauce ingredients: tomato sauce, ketchup, brown sugar, Worcestershire sauce, mustard, chili powder, salt, and pepper. Bring everything to a simmer.
04 - Reduce heat and let the mixture simmer for 5-10 minutes, stirring occasionally. The sauce should thicken and all the flavors will combine beautifully.
05 - Toast your hamburger buns if desired, then pile the hot turkey mixture onto the bottom buns. Garnish with fresh parsley if using, top with the other half of the bun, and serve right away.

# Notes:

01 - Best served immediately while hot
02 - Can be made ahead and reheated
03 - The filling freezes well for future meals
