Chocolate Easter Nests (Print Version)

# Ingredients:

01 - 1¼ cups (200g) milk chocolate, chopped (can substitute white, semi-sweet, or dark chocolate)
02 - 2 tablespoons honey (or golden syrup)
03 - 3 tablespoons (45g) butter, salted or unsalted
04 - 3 cups (90g) cornflakes
05 - 36 mini chocolate eggs

# Instructions:

01 - Start by lining a standard 12-hole muffin pan with paper liners. These will help you easily remove your chocolate nests once they've set, and also make them look more presentable. Set your prepared pan aside while you make the chocolate mixture.
02 - In a large microwave-safe bowl, combine the chopped chocolate, butter, and honey (or golden syrup). Microwave on medium power in 30-second bursts, stirring well between each interval. This gentle heating helps prevent the chocolate from burning or seizing. Continue until everything is completely melted and the mixture is smooth and glossy. You'll know it's ready when you can't see any remaining pieces of chocolate or butter.
03 - Add the cornflakes to your bowl of melted chocolate mixture. Using a large spoon or spatula, fold everything together gently but thoroughly. Take your time with this step to ensure every cornflake gets an even coating of the chocolate mixture without crushing them too much. You want the flakes to maintain their texture while being completely covered in chocolate.
04 - Spoon about 3 tablespoons of the chocolate-coated cornflakes into each paper liner. A helpful technique is to start with 1 tablespoon, press it down gently to form the base, then add more mixture and shape it. Use your fingers or the back of a spoon to create a small well in the center of each nest, pressing the mixture up slightly around the edges to form the nest shape. The indentation in the middle will hold your mini eggs perfectly.
05 - While the chocolate is still soft, place three mini chocolate eggs in the center of each nest. The eggs will slightly sink into the chocolate mixture, helping them stay in place once everything sets. This is the perfect time to get creative with your placement – you can cluster them in the center or arrange them in a pattern.
06 - Place the filled muffin pan in the refrigerator and let the nests chill for 30 minutes to an hour. The chocolate needs to firm up completely, which will hold the shape of your nests and ensure they don't fall apart when handled. You'll know they're ready when the chocolate feels solid to the touch and the nests can be lifted without bending.

02 - For a festive presentation, you can keep the nests in their paper liners when serving at parties or gifting, or remove the liners for a more polished look on a dessert platter.
03 - Store in an airtight container in a cool place for up to a week - though they rarely last that long!
