Homemade Strawberry Pop Tarts (Print Version)

# Ingredients:

→ Pastry

01 - 2 ½ cups all-purpose flour, plus more for sprinkling
02 - 2 tablespoons granulated sugar
03 - 1 cup cold salted butter, cubed
04 - ½ cup cold water
05 - 1 teaspoon vanilla

→ Filling

06 - 12 tablespoons strawberry preserves

→ Icing

07 - 1 cup powdered sugar
08 - 1-2 tablespoons milk
09 - Red sanding sugar

# Instructions:

01 - Pulse flour, sugar, and butter in food processor. Add vanilla and water. Chill 20-30 minutes.
02 - Roll dough 1/4" thick, cut into 12 rectangles. Add preserves, top with second rectangle, seal edges.
03 - Make ventilation holes, bake at 400°F for 15 minutes until golden.
04 - Cool completely. Mix icing ingredients, spread on tarts, top with sanding sugar.

# Notes:

01 - Ice just before serving for best results
02 - Can add lemon juice to preserves for extra flavor
03 - Dough can be made ahead and refrigerated
